IRIS Business Processes
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has two areas of responsibility: first, they are the state administrator, overseeing gaming in the state.
Second, they are a testing lab, verifying and validating the software used to drive gaming in Pennsylvania. IRIS meets both these needs. As a testing lab, PGCB tracks the end-to-end testing process within IRIS. Submission files are tracked, engineers are assigned, tests results managed, and reports generated all within IRIS. Switching to IRIS has provided scalability and process control unavailable in their previous system.
As a state administrator, PGCB requires casinos in the state to submit both monthly comprehensive reports of their gaming assets, as well as weekly change reports. Each month, the previous month’s change reports are compared against the end-of-month comprehensive report to verify that the correct changes were made and submitted. Replacing an entirely manual, email-based system to accomplish this, IRIS enables automated submission of comprehensive change reports, as well as an automated comparison. This has material benefits, both increasing accuracy of the data and reducing the overhead associated with maintaining it.
